First councils picked to trial wraparound childcare
The government has selected 16 councils to develop its wraparound childcare delivery plans for parents of primary school aged children in England. Some of the 16 local authority areas selected to first work with the government on its plans are expected to be the first to rollout the wraparound care from next summer, before the scheme is expanded to further councils from September 2024.
Investment aims to secure wraparound childcare for every Staffordshire primary school by 2026
Staffordshire County Council has been allocated over £1.6 million in government funding to increase the quantity and quality of childcare before and after school across the whole county. Parents of primary-school aged children across Staffordshire will benefit from access to affordable childcare from 8am to 6pm during school term-time, thanks to a new wraparound childcare programme.
